73.5 fuel pressure fittings and plunger stuck

911 73.5 CIS Targa

OK, car was running good but stopped. Have diagnosed a stuck FD plunger. I am trying to connect my fuel pressure gauge (supplied by PP) in the correct manner that I have read about in this forum recently (gauge ball valve side on the same side as the WUR and Throttle Valve)

In the past I was connecting this gauge with the WUR on the ball side and leaving the Throttle valve connected to the FD by its banjo fitting. This was evidently not allowing me to read correct System Pressure and instead all I could read was Control Pressure.

Anyway I am looking for the correct fuel fitting to allow me to connect the stock banjo fitting to the Throttle Valve to the gauge setup. My test kit did not include a female fitting necessary to adapt the 8mm threaded banjo bolt that would normally screw directly into the FD. The other side of this fitting would be the female compression fitting found on inline on the gauge set. Can anyone confirm the test kit does not include the necessary fitting for a 73.5? Where is a good place to find such a fitting to allow me to get this Throttle valve into its proper test placement in my test setup?

Rockreid,

Could you post the accessories that come with your new pressure gauge kit? Most of the pressure gauges you will buy as a kit do not contain these special fittings needed for the 73.5 CIS. If you want to find these hard to find fittings, you need to specify the fittings you would need and a good option is to contact Len Cummins (BoxsterGT). He has a collection of assorted metric fittings. I have a few of them but like to keep them. Keep us posted.

This is how my gauge is connected to my FD.

These are the rest of the fittings supplied with my test kit.

This is the 73.5 stock banjo fitting that connects the Throttle Valve to the FD. The open threaded end then connects to the WUR in a stock 73.5, so really what I think I need is this mirror image fitting except with one female 8mm side.

ok, sorted out a fuel delivery issue so my FD is now operating normally. However, I would still like the proper fitting for future testing. I emailed Len Cummings so let's see if he can help source such a fitting.
