Spanner to change Fan/Alternator belt

I heard a squeal from my engine at start up today. Checked engine bay and discovered my Fan/Alternator belt is worn and missing a few teeth. I go to my tool roll (which I have NEVER opened) and realized that the spanner tool used when removing the belt is not there. From the Bentley manual, it seems that there is no way around the need of this tool.

Does anyone know what size it is and where to get one? I checked our host but came up empty handed. Any advise would be appreciated.

Put a ""want to buy" spot in the Pelican classifieds.

Have you tried sticking a thin screwdriver into the hole to immobilize the pulley?

I bought mine on eBay for less than $20. Search "Porsche alternator pulley tool." Saw one there today for $35. Baum tools sells Porsche tools too at Baumtools.com. Tim

My altrenator shaft has a large hex (maybe 8mm if I remember correctly) therefore I have used a 24mm box wrench a the large metric hex key on the shaft to tighten the pulley nut. I have the spanner but the hex/box wrench thing seems to work better for me?

If after you change the alternator belt and it still squeals its the bearings in the alternator. Ask me how I know. I would recommend the Conitech belt over the porsche OEM version.

Here is some info on installing the belt.
It's actually supposed to seem too tight to fit.
Dealer alternator belt that is way too small/tight? (9.5 x 710)
Anyone else's fan belt keep getting loose?
