porsche 911

I have a 1970 porsche 911t it is serial no 9110101856 engine no 696006 is that correct ? I cannot find an engine number like that. it is a german import.

Engine is 7 number your missing a number after the 6..96006

Yes, you're missing something. Assuming that you have missed the second digit, a 1969 engine could be:

619 xxxx
629 xxxx
639 xxxx

I believe the '70 engines would be:

610 xxxx
620 xxxx
630 xxxx

As others posted, a digit is missing. However, the first "6" in the last four digits indicates the engine is a US spec T. Since the car was a German import and the engine is likely a 69, not a 70, it's fairly certain it is a replacement regardless of the missing digit. Posting the missing digit will confirm which 69 engine was installed.
