Original 911SC exhaust info
Hi.
I had to replace my original muffler recently. I did so with a factory supplied OEM. It is a very boring grey (And insanely expensive)! I just wanted to make sure that the original mufflers was like this as fitted from the factory and that Porsche themselves did not coat the mufflers afterwards. Other than that I also fit an OEM black end to the pipe, which I believe is correct. But I am not 100% certain. Its not easy to see in photos as most people do not photograph the muffler and tailpipe in high resolution! It looks correct. Can anyone tell me if the original setup was like this originally from the factory, as I decided to keep my car as genuine original as possible. I know Porsche is out of pre-mufflers, ao that will have to be an aftermarket when it needs replacement.

Yes, gray is correct for the muffler and black tips were standard.
Boring is an understatement in my opinion but who is going to argue with what the engineers did? ![]()

Thanks!
Luckily they focused on what it does rather than how it looks. 8) And I think the standard muffler sounds fine too.
