Brake light question
I just completed a front bearing, caliper and brake pad replacement project on my 1986 911 Carrera.
I don’t remember how the brake lights used to work, but now they only work when the ignition is switched on. Is this normal? I thought this circuit was always powered as it is in most other cars. Thanks.

They are working correctly. Brake lights only work when the key is on.

Thank you.
I had half of the trunk ripped apart, checking fuses & switches. It was my wife's idea to check the brake lights with the key turned on. Now she's telling everyone that she fixed the car! I'm just glad it is fixed and that I am finally driving again after the long winter and my brake/bearing/caliper project. Final result picture attached...

Or when the turn signal is actuated with ignition is off. It's a euro thing for parking lights while on a dark road.
