Targa badge

Hi there

Time to spray the tanga bar on my 82 SC. Does anyone know how the 'targa' badges come off? Reckon I can make a better job of it if I remove these first, even though they are the same colour.
Many thanks for any help.

It is a real pia. The whole bar has to come off. There are two nuts under each wheel well. Then you will remove the weatherstriping. Under the weatherstrip are a series of phillips screws (maybe 10-12).

I think on your car you are going to need to remove the charcoal canister under the passenger's wheel well in order to get to the nuts on that side. Run a search, this has been asked before. Probably some pictures floating out there.

As do the 14 phillips head screws around the front of the bar, which, you wont find without removing the seal.

Thanks guys. The plan was a quick tidy up, with a view to sorting it properly at a later date. I'm thinking I will leave them on......for now anyways

you will want to order a set of the plastic rivets/plugs and maybe a set of the plastic screws for the ski rack mounting points. Doubtful the old plastic bits will survive removal.
