Check Engine Light

1988 Cab looking to determine reason for check engine fault. Also how to turn off to see if refaults. Replaced starter with High Torque and now it's on. I cant find anything here on check engine light for older models.

Can you post a picture of the light? To my knowledge, your car doesn't have a CEL.

To my knowledge the only check engine light on your car is on the engine lid and used to see the engine at night. You could visually check your engine with it.

He probably mean the ALT light came on. Most likely the starter was not grounded properly.

+1 no CEL on a 3.2

If his starter isn't grounded properly, it never will be.
