Early transmission mounts: Solution?
Every discussion I read on this topic has the same non-answer. :confused:
What is the upgrade path to installing "clubsport" or solid transmission mounts on an early car with the pressed-in mounts. 1) Can the stock mounts be pressed out of the crossmember and replaced? If so, who makes/sells higher durometer or solid replacements? 2) Can a later crossmember with replaceable mounts be swapped in? Does it bolt right up or are there issues? 3) Does some racing shop make a complete aftermarket replacement? Seems to me the world must be running out of supply for the "find a used replacement in good condition" solution someday... |
