Why do you need Tial?

I bought used 930 wastegate in really good condition from a Pelican-member for 250$. (OEM 930 wastegate flows enough to support 500+ hp engines).

Hey beep,
Your right, the stock wastegate is a good unit.
The stock wastegate tends to leak pressure
before opening. The tial slams open at your
max boost setting, no leaking.
I run 2 Tial's on my other car.
Plus they look cool!
Stay cool on the dark side!!!!

No offend, but i think you got indoctrinated by ricer marketing.

Wastegate is wastegate, it operates with a spring. Tial has a spring and a piston just as OEM wastegate. When boost is high enough, membrane pulls up the piston and wastegate opens.

Wastegate creep occurs in Tial wastegate as much as in OEM, it's up to external boost controller to prevent creep. External controller doesn't let boost enter the wastegate until it reaches pre-defined level, and then it starts pulsing it on-off so boost is sustained.

Maybe two "bling" wastegates look cool but they are just extra weight to me.

Cheers!

I have heard about wastegate creep for years. I think it is a bunch of bull. I tested my 930 wastegate. No creep at all. Maybe some do but I don't buy it.

Blown,
How did you test you wastegate?
The 930 wastegate design is 30
years old. I've owned both stock
and Tial wastegates, the Tial is a
better unit.
I'm not trying to sell wastegates,
but I do tend to follow the performance
engin builders and tuners.

Yes, 930 wastegate is 30 years old but it's such a basic piece of equipment that nothing changed during those 30 years.

It's just a valve for gods sake, there are not many ways to build one. Spring, membrane, piston, mating surface = that's it! Tial looks just the same but has that "hella sweet" eloxed aluminium look on it's wastegate bell. As long as it's spring is as hard as OEM 930, it will start creeping as soon (or late) as OEM.

I'm not trying to say that everyone should use OEM, but it's like changing water-tap saying "it's 30 yr old, therefore it probably leaks water and i need that shiny new one". It's still just a tap. If seals are OK it will work...

And for second time:

You can eliminate wastegate-creep by using electronic boost-controller that doesn't supply pressurized air to wastegate-bell until pre-defined pressure is achieved which keeps it shut.

beep,
I have all the tricks in my bag when it comes to P cars.
I've either put it on, taken it off, or broke it.
Computer controll boost I have, it's not going save
the OEM from hitting the floor.
Maybe some day you'll try one.
Life's short, drive hard.

Amac,

I tested my wastegate with a regulator and a gauge when I had the unit off the car.

I have a TiAL unit in my car, hooked up to an Apexi AVC-R EBC.

A very high quality unit and much lighter than an OEM 930 unit.

Unless you have a faulty OEM unit, no need to go aftermarket. I only went TiAL cause my setup is aftermarket, not factory turbo.

If you can get a good OEM unit for half the price of a TiAL, go down that route and put the left-over funds towards an EBC. You won't look back
