Clutch Release Fork
Do these really break? Can I save $70 and reuse or will I regret it and be pulling the motor again. Original motor had 200k on it and I have no reason to believe the fork is not the original.

Rob,
I just faced the same quandry as you have. I looked at my release fork *very* carefully, before deciding *not* to replace it. My clutch was replaced before I got the car, so the fork might be fairly new. But do inspect yours......look for cracks or evidence of stress where the forked bits join the main part of the casting. Also check the surfaces that do the actual pushing for excessive wear.

I just pulled the engine and tranny to replace that and only that!! While I was in there I replaced all the leaky gaskets but; yes they can and do break. I actually posted a pic if you are interested. I probably would not change it though if you are doing the work your self. As you can see its not that hard to pull the motor.

Thanks for the replies.
I'll clean, inspect and make a decision.
