Can Boxster Brakes fit under 15" Fuchs?
Hi All,
I could never find definitive info on whether Boxster brakes fit under 15" Fuchs, so I finally tried it myself, and I'm answering my own question so it's on the record. If this subject has already been beaten to death, and I'm just not smart enough to find it, let me know, and we can kill this thread. The answer is yes, Boxster brakes do fit easily under 15" Fuchs, but only if you're using the set-up with Carrera rotors, not Boxster rotors. I learned this the hard way. The extra 9mm that the Boxster rotors need are enough to interfere. The Carrera-rotor-based set-up fits with room to spare. I've tried both flat-faced Fuchs, and deep-dished Fuchs, and both fit with plenty of margin. ![]() For background, I have a 1973 911 race car I've been running in SCCA vintage for about 8 years. I wanted to stick with 15" Fuchs, but the aluminum S calipers and stock rotors I've been running overheat after about 15 minutes on warm days of racing (at Sebring mostly), even with good racing fluid, and a very good A-arm cooling duct system. ![]() The set-up is front brakes only using non-S Boxster brakes with Carrera rotors. The adapters are available from multiple sources, but make sure they are intended for Carrera rotors, not Boxster rotors, (don't ask). This does require struts with 3.5" brake bolt spacing like used with the S-brakes. ![]() The end results are phenomenal. The new set-up has taken almost 3 seconds off my lap times (Which had been stable for the last 3 years). The brake feel is substantially better than the aluminum S calipers, and there is zero fade after a 30 minute session on track on a hot day. The pedal feel is much more positive, and I seem to have much better confidence going much deeper into the brake zone. I did not change racing brake compounds, but the pad is obviously much bigger. The calipers are from a well-known Porsche dismantler in the Southeast. The total cost of the project was ridiculously low. ![]() I hope someone finds this useful. Let me know you need part numbers or more details. JP

Thanks. Always have been under the impression 15" Fuchs were a no go.
That is exactly what EBS told me around 1990. Wonder if it had something to do with their brackets?
