How to remove dashboard fascia??
 

I have already messed up my dashboard cover (another post) - so now am being very careful about removing the knee pads, face plate trims...

can any one help me with how this removal is done??

Knee pads come off by removing nuts from the studs built into the trim. Reach behind the dash to access them. The face trim is glued on. Pry it off very carefully, as it doesn't take much to ruin it. Some switches and the ventilation controls will have to be removed first.

Remove steering wheel

Remove clamshell

The knee pads have 2 8mm nuts holding on each. The only difficult one (for me) to remove is the left driver side one. I use an 8mm universal socket for that. Remove those and ashtray of course.

Remove fiberboard cover over fan in trunk

Loosen 7mm nuts locking the cables to the HVAC directional vents, pull cables out

Remove passenger side vent and associated tubing

Remove 10mm nut holding the HVAC control levers to the body

Remove HVAC wiring to body and lights to it

Pull/push control levers through multi-hole grommet, can just remove entire grommet from body

Pull control lever unit out

Unscrew other fascia switches and ignition trim.

Take pictures of the area for reference

Using a sharp putty knife, carefully wedge it under the facia and cut up to remove.
