Wayne's 911 Engine Book
I got my "preview" b&w copy yesterday and skimmed it for a couple of hours last night. Quick review: instant classic.
It is everything promised - especially in assembly procedures and tricks of the trade. It has a clear and concise discussion of performance and reliability upgrades that makes it easy to plan out a rebuild/upgrade. It's easy to read and easy to understand exactly what to do - like he's standing over your shoulder and helping you along. Great for us amateurs. Wayne will be getting deserved thanks for many years. He will have saved a lot of us a from a lot of misery. In short, a must for the 911 library.

Just got mine today. Perfect timing too. First rainy day in Northern CA since May, so as soon as I get home from work it's open a bottle of Merlot and dive into the book. If I open it while sitting at my desk right now I know I'll get nothing done the rest of the day!

I ordered one of the previews when Wayne extended the deadline, around the 25th of Oct I think. I was wondering where it was so I emailed them and...
Sam from PP replied: "More copies will be shipped by the end of next week." Doh!

Thanks guys. I thought you might like it. Keep in mind that the color book is *way* better than the B&W because it has all of the Appendices in them (all the spec info from the NLA spec books).
Let me know what you think of it when it arrives. Sorry for the crappy pics on the B&W - the color slides look AWESOME! -Wayne

Got mine yesterday - I especially liked all the layout notes included in the text of the book. Good to see that someone is being careful to watch over the process to the end.

Got mine earlier in the week, along with the 930S wheel. New job, new VW project, 911 in the shop with trans work == no time to look at it...
