Stupid clutch cable question - '84

Sheesh, I am sooooo glad I am a computer guy and not a mechanic! OK, my clutch cable broke. I ordered a replacement from Wayne, along with his 101 projects book. I've found where the cable attaches to the tranny... no problem... but.... for the life of me I cannot find the cable end in the pedal cluster!!! The book says it's on the right side of the cluster but I can't find it. I can move the clutch pedal up and down, I see the return spring, but there is no evidence of the cable end. What in the h$ll am I missing here? Free psychological reassurance welcome.

i assume the wood floor board has been removed. now, with a flashlight if necc, look into the hole in the side of the tunnel to the right of where the pedal cluster sits. move the clutch pedal and see how the lever inside the tunnel moves with the pedal. the cable attaches to this lever with a fork (clevis), and a clip. the pedal needs to be all the way down to access the clip.

Found it.... it really hides over there under the metal tunnel lip. Required a flashlight to actually see it... the trick with this job is to make sure the metal cylinder on the cable that mates up against the firewall is really, really attached to the lip well. Otherwise the adjustment will fail. Thanks John!

While you'r ein there, make sure the bushing in the hold is not worn through. It will wear through the clutch arm, and your clutch will start to stick. I'm going to remove the pedal cluster and replace my clutch arm...dang it Pelican got my stuff out that day, and my package has been in van nuys all day! I want my clutch arm! I can pull the pedal cluster, beat out that freaking roll pin, insert my new shaft, plant a bushing in there, reattach the cable, and I know I can do this in less than 2 hours. I'm going to time myself.

I should go to van nuys and pick i up myself. The hardest part is beating out the f!cking roll pin and also getting the rod allen bolt back in with the main spring attached....
