Help Identifying Shock Inserts

Hey there -

My shop had these along with a set of rears (basically new, only installed on a car for painting) sitting around and gave to me to install on my '89. The rear part numbers are good, they'll fit and are right Bilstein Sport dampers. His car was an 85 but unsure what struts he had on front, they are long gone.

However, the front inserts, I'm unsure what these are. They are Bilstein, but not sure if they are for Boge, Bilstein, or other. Tried searching and cannot find these part numbers clearly referenced.

Also, notice the tops are slightly different? Total length and dimensions are same.

Any thoughts on what this fitment is for?

What struts do you have?

The Bilstein for Bilstein is characterized by the very wide chrome top part, and the hole on the bottom of the insert to hold the cross pin - which is only found on Bilstein for Bilstein struts. The width and the pin are part of the "upside down" design of Bilstein to reduce unsprung weight.

My original dampers are boge.

These inserts, do you know are they bilstein for bilstein? I got them from my shop unused but they weren't sure what they were for, been on shelf for a couple years from a past project.

If they are not for boge I will order bilstein sport for boge inserts.

Sorry, Not sure what you mean. The inserts I posted are bilstein. They say so on the insert.

What you linked to is for what?

Ok thank you. I'd tried searching on too much of the stamped number.
They look like they are for cars with bilstein dampers. Bilstein for bilstein.

I need to get bilstein for boge.

Thanks!

Bilstein inserts for boge struts ordered to go with the rears I installed this week.

Will be selling the above inserts.

Thanks for pointers!

Not to hijack, but my front shocks on my 82sc are getting tired.

How do I determine which inserts I need without dissasembly?

If I currently have bilsteins I am considering having them rebuilt this winter.

Thanks

Pull wheel and look at the inserts. Are they original?
Boge which I have are black on my car and stamped as such on the body visible with wheel off.
