Any good tricks to remove the front spindle spacer ring?
I tried a cheap 2 jaw gear puller but there is very little of the ring to grab on to, especially at the bottom. I filed down the puller to try to get a better grip but no good.

If you aren't reusing it you can easily push it off with an air chisel with a pointed tip, just stay on the lip and don't hit the spindle.

Heat them up with a propane torch and they come right off. Don't forget to replace the O-ring behind it. :)

Light Hammer and a bronze punch... Gently, light taps only.
Clean up the area first so you can see what you're doing. |
Planning on reusing them as long as I can get them off without too much trouble. Will try some heat and a punch in the morning. Thanks all

I would not try and reuse them. They are not expensive and easy to ding up when removing. Heat is the secret.
