2,7 engine on SWB 902/1 transmission

Hi folks,

I am collecting parts for my SWB build which came to me as a car without engine or transmission. I am going to mate a 2,7 Liter engine out of a '77 911S to the 902/1 transmission, which I have already purchased. I am starting to gather parts for the flywheel/clutch components. Can someone advise on flywheels? Specifically, Pelican offers 911-102-201-12-M894 for '71 model year and 901-102-026-01-M894 for '68 model year. I am a little confused about this because 901 transmission was used up until '73. Was there some other components that changed, or are these flywheels weighted different for the engines? Is one recommended?

Thanks,

Thomas

70-71 is a type 911 gearbox, not a 901. Your 902 gearbox is a type 901. Use the 1968 spec clutch.

Internally a 901 and 911 are near identical. But things like clutches and axles are not the same.
