Dash Face Material in Red?
Has anyone seen it? Or do I need to dye my black material?
Google and Pelican search revealed nothing. |
What is "dash face" material?

Might be worth calling Autobahn in Sorrento Valley - I stopped by one lunchtime and they were very friendly. I was actually looking to buy the regular basketweave, like you pictured.

how is attached - glue? right to the aluminum extrusion piece?
thanks. |
Glued on to the aluminum backing. You can cut pretty much any upholstery material to fit. Red basketweave should be available. The two well known trimmers in your neighborhood should be able to help.

Looks like TRE has it. Autobahn had never seen it before I showed him the picture of the singer 911 with it.
|
The Singer dash face is woven with strips of leather. Check the pictures of the Mexico delivered car and you can see how it is woven. On the seats the vertical strips are the shiny side of the leather and the horizontal parts are the suede part. If you can find the strips it would be very easy to weave a similar pattern.

Yea man...that's gorgeous. I'm not so sure about "easy to weave" myself. :)

If you don't want to weave your own.

Nice find! I wonder if its automotive grade?

Apparently it is automotive grade. Read under applications.
