911 engines don't last ?

Well, I've heard that several times and yet I have several customers in the 200-300 k range. Lots of valve adjustments, oil hoses and brake pads but none more important than oil changes and brake fluid flushes.

"Finally" developed a miss that isn't ignition or injector. Time for a well deserved rebuild. She's earned it.

It is just a fact, German's suck at quality control and mechanical engineering. Look at the MFIs they put on cars.

Nice. I hope my 3.2 gets there.

Just rolled 313,000 on my '81 SC... Still no major engine work. Just went through 2nd 915 rebuild.

Threads like this are a nice antidote to my irrational temptation to trade in my 3.2 for an 80's Ferrari. I need to be reminded now and again of the quality and durability of these cars.

I haven't seen a post from Vincent Hill in a while but he had over 400K miles on his 2.7 before the car was crushed in a traffic mishap. He salvaged the motor.

My 130k mile 911 has been more reliable than my last few DDs.
