Heat flappers connections, disconnect?
Hi. I have an 83 911SC with manual heat controls and delivery of unwanted heat. I know my heat flappers are rusted out and need to be replaced. Although the downward facing vents are wide open, I can see that the inner values are not fully closing. In order to get thru the summer, I've disconnected the hoses at the ex-changer end and not the flapper end. Does anyone out there see a problem with this?

Hi Bob,
Can I suggest closing up the vents. I used the lids of two aerosol cans to do this geoff Always a hot cabin |

You can also block the inlets in the footwells if you don't want to muck with the flappers, or they're stuck "on". I used aluminum tape.
There is no problem having open flappers. Just watch for critters... |
