Any friend who does a little woodworking will have that bar clamp or something equally similar. With a good dose of soap, the job is done in a few minutes so no need to overthink it IMOP. You can buy a "pony clamp" and a 36" pc. of pipe at your local home store if you can't borrow. This is not something that requires a "perfect" tool to accomplish successfully.

Also, I'd be happy to sell or rent my elephant tool if someone wants it. I think elephant sells the bushing with or without the tool. I'd sell mine for $10 plus shipping so you can buy the bushings only. Something I'll likely never use again, probably lots for sale in the classified ads.

But mine was so much fun to make!

If you have access to the elephant tool, a few whacks with a dead blow hammer will drive the rubber bushings on just fine. The clamp method is kind of a bother, IMO.

Nothing against your tool Casor, I really like elegant vs. struggle, slip, bleed, swear. Other hand, I also love to use tools I already own. Try to not be in a hurry usually helps.

Oy, that's a lot of wasted time. Elephant Racing rubber bushings and do THIS

Threaded rod, nuts and thick washers for less than $10 at Home Depot, and you get to use the same tool to press in bearings. ;)

How disillusioning!

Hi All,

My name is Daniel and I work at URO Parts. Before developing this product I used to read threads discussing why there wasn't a way to re-bush the factory front control arms with the original rubber material. We were the first company to provide a DIY, reasonably priced, stock bushing that could be installed with no special tools required. That's exactly what was asked for and we delivered.

I can check our warranty history for the last 3 years and we've sold 2,123 sets with not a single return.

We're a wholesale only company that sells this product to the largest parts houses in the world that continue to purchase this item from us on a regular basis. With over 6,000 sets sold to date and in cars for nearly seven years it is a testament to the fact that they install and perform as designed.

Thank you to all of those who have used this product!

I bought the URO parts (never installed um) but ended up going down the Powerflex route for the increased stiffness. Installation of the parts was a no-brainer and the units are working just fine.

ER parts seem over priced.

Very nice work - could you describe the various finishes?

Daniel - have you seen the ER comparison test and what are your comments on such. While we don't know for sure that it was Uro bushings used for "Brand X", it would seem to be a likely comparison. Has Uro run similar tests?
Rob

We reverse engineered the original factory bushings. The performance of our bushings mentioned earlier speaks for itself regardless of what any video claims to show.

Since mine was a polite, objective question seeking a level playing field among competing firms, I presume that I can therefore infer from your response that the answer to the aforementioned question is a "no".

Porsche Porn snipped

I agree, the Elephant Racing parts are nice, but overpriced (for the rubber units anyways). I would go with the 1/3rd priced Powerflex and I know they work well in other car brands.

The only thing I was worried about was 'squeaks', did you get any or do you think that's an issue?

Longer term(4+ years) I've seen a number of the Powerflex bushings disintegrate in BMW applications.

I would agree ER stuff is probably overpriced, but the products are really nice, and the community/person support along with targeted development for our platform is unparalleled. Hence why I bought my torsion bars from ER when I could have easily snagged them for $80 cheaper or so elsewhere.

I installed the UROs a few years ago. They seem fine so far.
$30 vs $225 was a no-brainer choice for me.

As compared to what, worn out 30 year old bushings?
