VIN help
a buddy has what he believes is a 69T.
He is currently not at the car, but has the title in hand and read the VIN to me: 119220765. this doesn't seem like a complete number to me. What if he meant to say 9119220765? Would that be a good number? any info is appreciated. ~Chris Last edited by chrisf; 06-29-2015 at 10:48 AM.. |

119 2 2 0765 is correct. 119 is for a '69 911. 2 is for 911E. 2 should be for a coupe. 0765 is the serial number.

What John said. The 9 digit up front didn't start until 1970.

0=coupe 1=Targa 2=Karmann coupe So this car is a Karmann bodied coupe. The paint tag should say Karmann on it, and there is a "hidden" Karmann body # in addition to all of the other regular numbers. PM me for advice on these if you wish.
