Portable lift recommendation for 84 911

Good Day, does anyone have a lift recommendation? Just need a short lift height. Working off a plywood floor in the barn. No concrete as of yet. Need something I can put away when not in use. Appreciate any feedback.

I have seen the quick jack 3500, looks interesting.

Dave

Plywood on dirt is really bad platform for an ass-heavy car that will be elevated a few feet into the air. But:

Dave,

Do you have a specific plan or project you want to do? Like removing the tires or dropping the motor? Before I had the lift, I used all sort of contraptions like 8"x8"x12" wooden blocks, jack stands, and floor jacks. The key is elevating the car safely and stable specially with tires removed. The higher the elevation the more risk you are taking. Having a plywood floor adds more variable for a safe operation. If you have no experience jacking the car up and doing it on a plywood floor sitting on bare ground, I strongly suggest to find someone to assist and guide you.

Working for the first time on concrete floor has inherent risk. Working on plywood floor on dirt complicates the condition. Whatever you decide to do, just be aware that you are doing a risky task and take your time. Stay safe.

Tony

Lift

We will be carrying E-Zlift. I have looked at a lot of them; easy to operate and store.

Having the single post lift (mobileman) that is portable I can say you really need a good floor for it to move around. The lift weighs over 1700 lbs .

Working under adverse conditions builds character.

The Quick Jack would work well for you on plywood over dirt i think.

I'd take the time to screw down 2 more layers of 3/4" pressure treated ply under your work area first for added stability.

Fixer, 3500 or 5000 model? I like the idea of two layers of flooring.

There was a group buy on these last year on the Factory Five forums........ Lets just say, people are very disappointed with it.

Just buy a scissor lift. It will allow working under the car much, much better.

I love my scissor lift. Though not easily moved, it is portable and could be stored on it's side (though it's very heavy so you'd need some type of engine hoist or other winch to lift it).

I bought a Kwiklift on the FS forum here a few months back I love it. Easy to use no electricity or fluid to worry about and the entire middle of the car is accessible. We just used it to do a custom exhaust on my sons car and it worked great. Link
