NAPA sucks Donkey Balls

Earlier in the week, a poster noted a sale on VR-1 Valvoline Racing oil at NAPA. Which as many of you know is the better low cost oil for ail cooled motors.

I ordered a case, told it would be in in three days. Had two follow up calls. Then NADA from NAPA. Finally got thru today after three unanswered messages.

Not only is my case in, they sold two bottles and they won't honor my sale price of $4.49......ratbastards.....AND they won't honor the current $20 online discount.

NAPA is going down hill.......at least our local one is. Parts that they should have in stock are now........have it for you tomorrow. Another local AP store has been getting a lot more of my business lately.

Brad Penn isn't the better oil anymore?

VR1 is the easily available local alternative. Brad Penn is still recommended by many of the most highly respected mechanics in the country.

Brad Penn is something like $3 a quart more where I live.

Is it 40% better than VR1?

I see. I get it for a little over 4 bucks a quart.

My local NAPA was stuck in the 70s since, well, the 70s. They finally went out of business last month.

I live in CA.....oil is expensive.....they used to put VR-1 on sale every year. I used to buy 2 cases. The sale never happened this year.

I saw a SLIGHT decrease in price, I ordered it. I am getting screwed....not a huge amount but enuff for me to kvetch. MY quoted price was $4.50 a quart......

I don't CARE if you like Brad Penn, synthetic or WTF else......this is MY kvetch thread about NAPA. I'm pissed and and I am gonna yell....

I could not get it from Napa, so I ordered it from Amazon and got it for $5.35 each.

Several good oils still available, but it's a shame that the NAPA store isn't standing behind it's advertisement.

I ordered Kendall Titanium (on advice of a local Porsche guru) on Amazon, but Brad Penn and Joe Gibbs seem to be the preferred oils these days. It would be nice to be able to simply pickup some oil at the local FLAPS, but it seems those days are going away and you have to search out the right stuff.

Ok, I get it. Sorry about your issues with NAPA. I was just afraid I missed some new discovery about Brad Penn.

My NAPA is mediocre but I expect that. I live in a place where pickup trucks and SUVs are daily drivers for most and there are maybe 4 Porsche owners.

No worries, I have brow beaten the O'Reilly mouth breather that had Sunday duty. Got his name and recorded his assurance that they would honor NAPA's sale AND include the $20 O'Reilly online discount......

Will get back to you.....%^)

If I can....I should be able to get the VR-1 at 3.30 a quart.....
