Cool 917 reproductions

a while back I stumbled over a web site for someone in British Columbia building 917 repos. Haven't been able to find it again. Are they out of business or ????
Regards
Woody

You are confusing two different sites and replica builders. The 917 replicas are built in Australia and the site is http://project917.itgo.com/index.htm
The URL above at homestead.com references a guy in CA at an (805) area code. He is NOT the builder. Andrew Keiller is the actual manufacturer, and I would suggest contacting him directly.

The fellow in BC is building 962 replica parts, not a 917. His website is http://www3.telus.net/962/

There was one of these cars at the German Autofest in Ventura this year, it drew the biggest crowd as they unloaded it off the flatbed. I'm pretty sure Wayne took some photos of it.
It was basically complete minus engine. I was drooling over it wondering if the wife would let me take out a second o the house....

Warning - I just tried the link to the repro company and while the site was nice and the product looked cool, when I tried to exit from the site FOUR pop up windows appeared offering me free DVD's from which I could not exit. I had to disconnect from the net and these kind of things really pi$$ me off!

I corresponded with the builder of the 917 replica a couple of years ago, and at the time, they were selling a roller for about $37K US. Engine and tranny was up to you. They also were developing a 908 replica.
