weber 40ida??

do the throttle plate come off by just the 2 screw on the bottom of the plate in ccw motion,trying to replace the shaft bushing, thanks for your guys help al from mass

Yes, the two screws in the throttle shaft hold the throttle plates on. They are peined to prevent them from coming loose. Look at the end of the screw and you will see a punch mark where this was done. They are normal right hand threads.

If you are only replacing the plastic bushes at the end of the shaft, there is no need to remove the throttle shafts.

I replaced mine with brass sheet wrapped around the shaft. It lasted for decades and never caused any problems. The plastic crap will not last.

Unless you are planning to re-bush the entire carb, which I do not recommend, you will be wasting time removing the throttle shafts. Removing the shafts, or re-bushing the entire carb is not for the faint of heart.
