mixture screw fitment
Hi as I am struggling to get hold of 64750.018 mixture screws for early 911 weber carbs, does anyone know if the 64750.004 that is available for later ones will work.the Idtp 64750.018 is stepped as in the picture at the tip instead of cone shaped like the later ones.can anyone tell me if the cone shaped can be machined down ie are the thread and length the same.

Doubtful, when installed, the IDTP screws have the same number of turns from closed as the IDA screws. If you put a taper onto the IDTP screws then the screw will fit deeper into the carb body which will nearly allow the spring to compress, especially when using the cup washers under the springs. IDTP mixture screws will work OK but they are much coarser in their ability to adjust mixture strength than IDA screws.
I sell new, steel IDA type mixture screws that are exact to OEM including the knurled head. Contact me via my email address provided on my web site for pricing if interested.
