In Portland until Tuesday - What Should I Check Out?
Portland is a great Porsche city, so I'm told. I'm here for the World Domination Summit conference until Tuesday. What are the must see Porsche options around here? I'm told there's a vintage race this weekend, so I might pop over tomorrow and take a few pictures.
If you're a Portlander, it would be great to meet and say hello! Michael |
To cast the largest possible net I'd probably post in the OT section. I had dinner with a bunch of local (Portland) 993 guys two weekends ago and even got to meet Steve Wiener. Like you say, a pretty active area. Cheers

Absolutely the Historic Races. I'll be there manning the Cascade Sports Car Club booth to promote the club and a benefit we do for the children's hospital. Drop by and say hi. Most of the racer types will be at the races, so shops like Rothsport will not be available for tours and such.
Drop a message over in the regional forum section -Pacific Northwest. Cheers, -C |
Thanks all!

There are 7 Porsches driving up from Eugene for the races on Saturday, we will be parking in the PCA corral. New organizer this year, so it's hard to compare, but there have always been Porsches racing there in past years, and your ticket includes paddock access, so you can actually talk to the racers about their cars, if you wish.

The PCA infield corral!.... duh, how could I have forgotten that?? Must see. Thanks Arne.
Y'all drop by and say hi. -C |
Rennsport Systems is in Portland. He's noted to be a very good engine rebuilder. I've talked to him on the phone a couple of times; never been to his place. Rennsport Systems | Porsche Performance Systems and Support
Get some oysters at the Oyster Bar while you're there; down near the Willamette River. Best, Tom |
I believe Voodoo Donuts makes a 930 maple bar, with bacon.

Powells' Books for...books. Strip clubs for... duh. (steak special at The Acropolis is pretty good. Meet some meat, eat some meat, and then you can go beat some meat) I think I saw a 911SC in the lot once. Oh, wait, it was mine. |
Dennis (Timmy) I didn't know you were here! I was in conference mode yesterday, but have a free day today! (Monday) Anyone want to run me up to Rothsport? :) I need to get some parts for my 3.6 conversion.
