Vacuume hose sizes

Does anyone have a list of the different sizes of cloth covered vacum lines used for a 78 911SC CIS? Our host lists several different sizes and was hoping that someone made a full size reference chart.

Would like to order everything at one time.

Thanks

It's been a while since I've contributed.... but I can help out a little here.

Grab the PET catalog. Page 70 of 489 shows all the different hoses you're going to need. When I did the hose replacement; I asked if there was a kit to get all the hoses in one shot, they did not have that available at the time.

In essence, there are several different lengths of 3.5mm diameter hose called out as well as one at 3.2mm diameter. What I did is talk to the sales guy at our host's hot-line (with the PET in hand) and got a big roll of the stuff so that when (not if) I cut one too short, I'd have a bit left over to fix my mistake.

There is also some hoses shown on page 114 that are called out on the next page as 12X2,5 and if you're in there, replace those as well.

Good luck.

Cheers

I replaced all mine with 3.5 x 7mm PN 55-0623-020-M21 from our host. I ordered 4 meters of it. Works and fits just fine on my '82 SC. Looks and feels like the original hoses I had. These were all the vacuum lines from the throttle body to the WUR, deceleration valve, dizzy and cruise control vac port

Thanks! Ordered...

Is there any functional difference between the cloth wrapped and non-wrapped rubber type?

Hey bugstrider, good question I don't know. The only place I don't have the cloth wrapped one is my red rubber dizzy vacuum hose. The "blue" vacuum hose to the dizzy had already been replaced with a 3.5mm as above so I replaced mine with same. I guess the cloth insulates against the heat? I think the main thing is to use the proper diameter so it fits airtight on all the ports and make sure the hose is rated high enough so it doesn't collapse under vacuum.

Ok, got the order from PP's and then picked up some rubber type from the FLAPS. The German hose is slot more playable. Not sure if this could lead to a collapse when it heats up.

I'll post a picture of the differences when I get home from work.
