911 will not start

This am I started my 80 sc and backed it out of the garage. Everything was fine. When I went to start it this pm NOTHING. It cranked but would not start. I was thinking fuel pump so I put a little started fluid down the Pop off valve. It sputtered but then quit. I replaced fuel pump fuse, it was old, and still nothing. I suspect fuel pump. Any easy way to check fuel pump operating with out getting under car? I already removed a plug and grounded it and had someone crank key. Plenty of spark. Thanks for help.

Did you check the fuel pump RELAY in the front trunk fuse box? You can try a black one to verify it works or not.

OP stated that he already verified spark.

Lift airflow sensor plate in airbox, and you should definitely hear the fuel pump start to run. If you don't your problem is the fuse or relay or pump.

My fuel pump relay socket is wonky and loose, so I had to spread the prongs on the relay a bit to improve the contact. Spray some electrical cleaner down in there also to improve the contact. Good luck!

This means you can take off the airbox cover in the engine bay, and reach inside the airbox. In the back on the left is a round plate. Push it upwards (it will resist at first). If you have the key turned to the "run" position, raising the plate should make the fuel pump run, and inject some gas into the intakes.

If you lift the plate and hear a whooshy-zishy noise, the fuel pump is running (although not necessarily providing sufficient pressure).
