CIS tester reccomendation
 

can anyone reccomend a CIS tester that they have used and think is a good one

If you mean fuel pressure tester, the Harbor Freight one is adequate for occasional use. Professional grade units are out there, but not cheap. Snap on, etc likely has sets, or build your own with only the fittings you need and a gauge from McMaster.

I just had had major issues with the HF gauge set up. The 4 small shrader valves in the lines are very restrictive and make the readings inconsistent, I know some people have had success with the HF gauge but the one I used did not work well. When I removed the valves it still did not give accurate control or residual readings. I bought the same one that pelican sells (S&G Tool Aide around $100) and it works much better. I wish the bleed off valve had a drain tube. But if you rap a rag around it when bleeding pressure it keeps the mess to a minimum.

Same experience as pmead; avoid the HF setup even though it has lots of nice pieces. The one our host sells works well, and they will stand behind it.

Not sure if I bought from PP or another source but it was about a buck and a quarter seven years ago. Works every time, all the time. Simple set. Not universal.

I can't discount the HF setup as I do not own it. However, I do a lot of "basic" AC work and I have Robinaire gauges and a couple of HF gauge sets. Honestly, and I mean for real, I don't trust the HF gauges after a year of use.

If you want the HF set, I'll sell you mine at a discount.... You've been warned, but maybe you can work out their problems.
