unusual tire wear?

Is this unusual, or indicative of wrong inflation? It's the right rear, too r888, and only maybe 2 or 3 years old with only 1 track, maybe 10-15k km of street. The other tires have plenty of wear left.

R888 are 100 tread wear, honestly that mileage + track use seems good, but wear in center indicates too high pressures. Normal porsche rear wear is more to inside edge. You can't compare this but an NT01 on my RS lasts about 4-5 track days. They are 100 wear, but clearly RS has massively more power (and weight).

That tire is done. As stated above, cording in the center with tread still on the sides usually indicates too high of pressure.

I'm more concerned that it's just one tire. Maybe do you have a brake hanging up, or is the corner balance all weird (does it handle differently in lh and rh turns?)

Just wondering if the cords are showing all the way around the tread, or just in one area?

Handling is normal. I replaced the rear left a few months ago after a blowout and never got around to replacing the rear right, well, now I am So the rear left has plenty of tread (almost new, probably under 2000km on it, and the rear right will be brand new as of later today. The fronts both have lots of tread left, though that makes sense for a RWD car.

No, it's just that one area. In fact, it looks very much like what I'd expect to see after an emergency stop/skid in a car with no ABS, except that I haven't done that at all.

Could it be a defective tire? You might want to have a Toyo rep take a look at it.

I think with the mileage on it they wouldn't be able to assess much, would they? While I understand having the inner area of the tread wear faster indicates overinflation, I'm fairly good at checking tire pressure, and if anything run it a bit low, especially at the track.
