Never, ever breaks
Speed channel interviewed a privateer in the GT class, whose budget is only $300K, compared with the $2m budget of factory competitors. He said they race a Porsche GT3 for economic reasons. He said first of all, Porsche ships the car ready to race. They received the car, adjusted it, and raced it. Like that.
But my favorite comment was at the end. He said that racing the Porsche platform is easily less than a third the cost of developing a car theirselves. Porsche has already sorted everything out. And he closed by saying they do not have to spend a lot in parts. He said the Porsche "never, ever, breaks." ![]()
