930 speed sensor
 
I have a 79 930 that has an 87 motor in it.
My speedometer is intermittent on and off. I have checked wiring and wires are good and I also have what appears to be intermittent pulse coming form sending unit.
Can some one tell me if a n 87 sensor will work with a 79 speedo.
Please help
