Spark Plug gap with MSD

This is on a 68S 2.0 weber carb engine. Using NGK BPR8ES with an MSD ignition. values for plug gap range widely from the Porsche manual which ranges from .012" to .018 for a factory ignition system to MSD which says .050" to .060 and from Wayne Dempsey which states .050" to .058". What would be recommended, can I really run .050" gap.

You didn't mention compression ratio, but I've found .045" to be about best.

.045 is about the max you want to run with a distributor. Gaps above this starts to stress the cap/rotor and shorten their lifespans.

As well as find every short coming in your wires and wire looming configuration.
