Recommended Door Stop don't fit?
Hi, I have a 1971 911T and i ordered a pair of lovely new door stops from our sponsor. These are a replacement dressing as the original lever and spring type are NLA.
The originals have 1 1/2" between centres and the door frame is make for that. The replacement unit are a different design and although everyone, including or sponsor says they are right for a 71, they have 1 3/4" between centre! As the originals are NLA has anyone found a work around?

Could you post a link to the parts? Someone who is familiar with these for the early 70's car may be able to spot a problem.
I do not know if body mods are required to install them on yours but I have to think it should have said loud and clear you have to move the holes. Also, 1 3/4" vs 1 1/2" means your "new" holes have to be moved outwards a mere 1/8" per hole. That would (almost) require a machine shop with a horizontal boring mill to get that placement spot on. Something is not quite right.

I found same thing. You can get a rebuild kit with rod and springs for the original stop. Not sure if Wayne stocks it.

Snap, I had the same issue. I resized the holes with a rill bit 0.5mm larger, planning to rebuild the original stops one day. That day still has not happened.
