engine identification

Can anyone help me figure out what type of engine I have in a car that has NO VIN numbers?

6403862
from what I have been able to find, I think it is a 1979 3.0L but I have one of those engines on a bench and am working on it, but there are definite differences in things like the WUR, fan shroud, and this engine has a throttle position sensor while my other engine (a 79 3.0L) does not. hmmmmmmmm

I;m hoping that its the original engine, so knowing the year and size engine will aid in figuring out what model/year car it is.

Thanks!

Engine type........

Jim,

Close to where the engine number is located, look for the engine type (930/xx) and post it. Verify on the crankcase the 3rd digit of the engine number you posted if it is O or C. Can't find that engine number in the Red Book. Thanks.

Thanks Tony!

It is clearly not a C, so zero or O. the other set of numbers are 930/07

dennis thanks for the link, very helpful. seems like it is from a 1980 SC. so the suptle differences from the 79 engine make sense.

Jim,

When you get a chance could you post the Bosch ID numbers for the following?

Warm up regulator
Fuel distributor
Ignition distributor

It looks like it is an '80 SC based from the engine serial number. But curious to know the other CIS components on the engine. Thanks.
