1986 Seat Diagram?
Does anyone have a resource for diagrams or good pictures for taking apart the stock seats from my '86?
Both of my seats have issues that I think I can repair. One of the passenger seat lowering levers doesn't operate. The driver side has a trim piece that isn't attached. Thanks! |

Jim Ellis Porsche has lots of diagrams.
1986 Porsche 911 seat frame electric If you mean the electric seat switch doesn't operate, it's a common problem. The problem is the electrical contacts inside the switch. You need to take apart the switch and clean the contacts. You could do it while the seat is in the car, but it would be extremely difficult to put the switch back together. You'll need to take the seat out, flip it sideways, slide the large brown 6 pin plug to unmount the plug, pry open the plug, remove the wires (note where they go). Cut the tie straps on the wire harness, remove the screws from the seat switch and carefully pull out the switch along with the wires. Then take the switch apart and clean the contacts. Do a search for seat switch repair and there should be a few how to's.
