Ron have you checked out Bills new digs? He moved the shop off Sunrise Highway. Its now located off Merrick Rd just south of Auto Barn... soon to be delivered is a Hunter Alignment system.
The dyno installation is in the near future as well

yeah I know, but I've been out of the loop, long story.. he's in a wild game in this area..and you know something, I've told him more than once over the years that he's a great manager.. not stroking him, just telling him what I see thru my eyes.. because sometimes building fast track engines/great mechanic/etc. ain't good enough.. so I do believe that he'll maintain the profile.. and maybe we'll be reading his name on this BB some day.. and I bet that dyno will happen faster than you think, much faster. then there will be nothing slowing him down.............Ron

Hey remember me,
Anyways, the reasons I decided to go with MSD rather than stock CDI is CDI even though it was ahead of its time 25 years ago MSD is newer technology. MSD is a hotter spark so I'll be able to open the gap on plugs, and it is also alot cheaper. MSD 6420AL with 8910 tach adapter, and 8207 coil cost me $214.00 and that includes shipping. You can't even get a rebuilt stock for that. So as far as I'm concerned this is a no brainer.

Exactly my point (and I see you shopped around!). I used the 8222 coil (high vibration) so I could mount it in the stock location.

There's something to be said for using everything from one company. Permatune has left me stranded, so did the stock CD box. I've since gone to a crane trigger, ignition box and coil.

I figure if something fails, the manufacturer is more likely to honor a warranty, maybe even longer than stated if you are using all their stuff. If you mix and match it's easy to blame another part in the chain.

got this from the Rennlist 914 Digest
"the Bosch Blue my not function at wide gap at track rpm's.."

CamB, I went with the 8207 coil because it is also packed in a resin like the high vibration 8222. I plan on mounting everything on the side wall where the stock box is now.

Todsimpson, I agree. Same manufactured products grouped together work best together. So if somethings goes wrong in installation or operation, one phone call, one fix.
