Question A/C wiring question on '83 color codes

I finally got some time today to get back to sorting out the old wiring. Grant came by and together we got almost everything sorted out (thanks, Grant!). What got me on this quest was getting my inop A/C working. (Everything is installed - I just need to get the electrical sorted out.)

Here is where I am confused between what I've found and the wiring diagrams. I have two wires to the fuse panel that go together. One is black and the other is black/red.
When the A/C fan speed switch is on (lo/med/hi) and the key is in start position, I can give these wires 12v and the evap fan and the front condenser fan kick on.

I assume that these wires should be on the top side of a fuse that gets 12v on start/run (11, 12 or 16). It seems the two wires in question are providing 12v to the A/C relay. Or at least 1 is.

The thing that is confusing me is that I don't see these wire colors in the Bentley or the factory schematics. I've looked at factory diagrams for '78 and also the diagram for '82 and I don't see these wire colors. There is a black on the A/C relay that goes to fuse 11 but no black/red.

Here is the '82 diagram I'm looking at.

I'd feel better if I had positive confirmation that my assumption is correct for an '83.

Any takers?

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

If you can wait a few days, I can come by and look at it.

Sure, it will be a while before I can get back to it anyway. Looking at it with fresh eyes this morning I think the A/C wiring looks right now. The rest of the evap and front condenser fan circuits appear to be wired correctly now. I have also separated the evap and front condenser fan onto their own fuses and added an inline fuse to the new front condenser fan circuit to prevent a fire from the motor seizing. And I now have 12v to the compressor clutch which was the original issue.

There are a few other things that have never worked on the car -- cruise, seat belt/key buzzer and headlamp washers. Next up is checking those things out. Grant has a known good cruise box so I'm going to swap it out too and see if that fixes it.

Almost done with all of this. It will be good to finally get all of these little annoying things resolved and to have everything working correctly!
