Talked a friend into Porsche ownership, flew to L.A. and drove non stop to Boston with only faith in the Porsche gods and a few borrowed parts from Sears (returned on arrival). This is just entering the Rockies...
Second highlight was getting my own car running well enough to take many trips with out worry or breakdowns. It was a good Porsche Summer.

Cool

mine is yet to come. After 16 long months of garage time, my 944 is going to be repaired and hitting the road again in 2 weeks. I am so excited.

Had to be the First Annual SCWDP Rainforest Round-Up.

What a fine group of people and cars we assembled last July; the memories should last until our '03 event, which should be even bigger and better.

BTW......The '03 Round-Up will be held in WA State (still Rainforest country) and promises spectacular driving and scenery to match. I was shown the tentative route a while ago, and can hardly wait to drive it!
Details will surely follow in the new year.

Selling my '73 914 2.0 was clearly the low point. But just a clear, buying my '70 E was great and the drive up Pacific Coast Highway was the most fun I have had in many, many years.

Mine was many things.

1) a complete and successful 2.7 rebuild (1974 911)
2) purchasing a beautiful 993
3) particitpating in PCA activities
4)spending countless hours on the BBS

I always dream of a way to get everyone together for a weekend somewhere to meet.

Running 2s faster than Jack Olsen @ Thunderhill

(Like getting lucky with a drunk supermodel; I have to relish it - it's never going to happen again...)

Yeah Bell, why are you trying to sell that car??? If it's been parked next to Ronnie's road warrior, it ought to be a keeper...the good luck rubs off.

i've got an evil grin just thinking about the car i want to build........
i'm going to build a 73' rs replica with possibly a 930 turbo 3.0.
that is the plan, if my targa doesn't sell come spring i will most likely keep it and build my "dream porsche" in a few years, which is an early body....guards red..........turbo.........duckbill.........plain and sexy with the engine to back it up

ps......ron's wisdom also rubs off

Two great memories. One was running the OTC with Pelicanite Tyson Schmidt.

The other was bringing my older brother out for a day at Thunderhill (and watching Thom in my rear-view. )

Making lots of new good friends during 2 engine drops, and transforming my '77. with the help of those friends, into a very potent daily driver.

That is what Porsche ownership is all about, and that is my highlight of the year. Thanks to Doug, Richard, John, Jim, Chris, Tony, Justin, Dave, Dan, & Tom.

Looking forward to next year already.

Tour de Cambria

Best Porsche time of the year was hangin' with the Gruppe at Tour de Cambria 2002.

Montrey next year. That is closer to home.

Jack, I love that 2nd pic...it's some kind of illustration of weight transfer under braking & cornering...you were at 9.9 tenths there. Now, do us all a favor, don't go to 10.2 tenths again? Once was enough, and I'm glad you are okay.

Bell? Ronnie is kind of wise, (for a New Yorker) isn't he? There are things in my life I regret. Meeting Ronnie isn't one of them. Good luck on whatever you choose to do when it comes to P-car rides.
