Correct Interior Color Combination

Hi All -
My 1977 has a new white headliner - it is beautiful. I need to replace my puffer fish sun visors. The factory parts are still on the car and are an off white on one side and black on the other. All of the replacements I have found are new versions of the same - so they are not as bright of a white as my headliner.

Should my headliner have been off white, or should the visors be all black? OR, is the mismatch on color actually correct?

Thanks -
Scott S

Here is a pic of the headliner - you can see the original visors as well:

Replacing a ratty headliner really spruces up the interior. I've not seen a pure white headliner before, but you obviously have one!

Pure black ones, i.e., black on both sides would probably be OK, although I think they were intended for a black headliner.

I got my repro visors off of eBay from a German manufacture but don't see them anymore on the site. There is a pair of used white ones on the site: Porsche 911 Sun Visors | eBay

You might want to discuss their condition with the seller who appears to be very reliable.

I think the original headliner was more like an ivory white, so maybe your replacement headliner is too white. Did you source the new headliner from Porsche, or the aftermarket?

Don't throw your visors away if you replace them.

I am guessing it came from the aftermarket. It was already in the car when I purchased it. Looks like it may just be easier to go all black.

- or -

I could go with the ivory and black, and then vinyl die the ivory to bright white. Is that cheesy??

I like black, myself, but it is your car.

Most coupes seem to have either black or ivory, but mine (still original) is the same brown as the rest of the interior.
