Any paint recommendations for window frames and interior metal?

The paint on the metal surround of the windows is chipping pretty badly so its half silver and half black. Same goes for the interior pieces like the shift lever and the metal strips under the door. I've painted over these before and it didn't hold up.

Is there a recommended paint or type of paint? Or do i just need to apply more coats?
