Did a boot or grommet ever exist on turn/wiper stalks?
I've been doing some sprucing up on my interior, and one thing keeps catching my eye is the the base of the turn signal and wiper stalks, where they enter the steering column clamshell. It looks like there should be something there to hide the clamshell internals, and to keep dirt and dust out. It just looks a bit unfinished by Porsche standards. Was there ever a boot or grommet available to cover these gaps?
My car: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1439407632.jpg I've noticed this on many others cars, including some extremely beautiful, and detail oriented perfected cars [picture of rswannabe's gorgeous interior used for example].: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1439407995.jpg Just wanted to know if there was anything ever available, or if anybody has found something that fits. |
I can't say no 911 came with a boot for the stalk, but I have never seen one.

Thanks for the response GH85Carrera. I just thought that since it's very common on modern cars that Porsche might have done it too. All my other cars have either boots, or at least a flat cover that hides the hole, and keeps the dirt out of the switches.

Maybe you could adapt a boot from another car or piece of equipment to serve the purpose.

No they do not have boots, over the stalks.

Marv~ I've started my search for something that would work, fit that size hole, allow the stalk to work unobstructed, and look appropriate. Problem is, to cross shop brands and models of cars. There is no Stalk Boot store, or Stalkboot.com. I will let you guys know if I find something. If any of you find one that works, please let me know. TIA
