Help needed on 3.6liter rs clone
 

Hello everyone ,

I need a little help on 2 items on my 3.6 liter 1970 rs clone
im building..

1/ does anyone have a picture they could post on how the front 2 batteries are held down in the battery boxes please ..as i dont see how they are held in place ...what am i missing :), actually
i am missing the hold downs .. and need to see what i need to get !

2/ Im installing a one peice rs front bumper assy .. is there any seal needed between front bum[per and body ? .. and pictures please

PS 3.6 liter motor and 1986 915 with limited slip and oil pump cooler installed this weekend , almost ready to fire her up !

Wow - cool sounding setup!

I don't have the answer to either question (well, I think the answer to #2 is nothing and to #1 is a metal bracket with a catch which "flips" over, a bit like the top on an old-school bottle like your grandparents used to fill with home-made cider.

My question is as to what people use as an alternative (mine (a single) is sorta wedged in there by the jack against the spare tyre - hardly ideal). I don't have the strap and I am missing at least one of the brackets on the body.

There is a thick rubber strip between bumper and fender, sorry no pictures.

When I did my RS clone way back when(this was in the early 70s) I either used the existing stock rubber pads or nothing at all between the f/g and steel.

Your car will be set up like mine :)

Are those batteries suposto sit in the boxes sideways like that ?
with the terminals laying out side ways ???

Whgat about battery leaking fluid ??

I thought you would put them in standing up ?

Those are sealed batteries. Not sure you can put them in like that but if you could he would know as he sells them! Check out Chucks website... they are also a lot lighter than normal as well!

That's a dry cell and it can be mounted on its side like that, no fluid to leak!
