Derek was really happy with the Jalopnik post yesterday. In the gearhead world it kind of means you did something super cool!
He only posted his movie yesterday so it is pretty incredible that it got noticed that quick. The live premier for it was on April 21st in Studio City. He also arranged to premier Magnus Walker's short "6th Street Bridge". We had an awesome evening and a large part of the event was a reunion for the Targa Baja participants. (Oh! And they served Bass Ale!!!) You can get a taste of what 700 miles in Mexico is like by searching YouTube for the tag TargaBaja. It still amazes me how shocked people are when you mention that you drove the Pooch to Mexico. The enthusiasm that we get from pretty much everyone when we show up with a bunch of loud fast cars is incredible. The politeness is 100% pervasive. Just imagine if you drove a line of sporty sounding cars through Irvine. They would call out the National Guard. Also it has been years since I could play Night Driver!

Fantastic. I've spent a lot of time in Baja Mexico doing the 1000 and the San Felipe 250. I love it there. I'm going to do this. Anyone have info on the #86 car?
