A/C Low Pressure Post Location : 1985 911
 

I am venturing into my friends 85 cabriolet A/C system. While I have owned, serviced three 944 cars for twenty years, some of the 911 design mystifies me.

I have done my own a/c work with sucess. For the 911 I ask:

1. Where are the high & low ports? (denso compressor..on the compressor itlself, I thought the rear facing port was low and the forward high)
2. Where is the receiver drier hiding?
3. Where is the low freon cut off safety valve? (in case I need to bridge it if there is zilch for freon so the compressor clutch will engage)

Patrick, Nippodenso compressor ports are marked D (discharge = high side) and S (suction = lowside), but regardless, the highside port has the hose connected to it that goes to the tail condenser.

The receiver/drier is in the front left wheel well, backside of wheel.

No OEM pressure switch, but if one was added at some point, it would either be in the vicinity of the high side port on the compressor (or inline with the short section of hose there), or in the vicinity of the receiver/drier.
