Oil pressure relief plug leaks.... help.

What’s the best way to fix my problem? My oil pressure relief plug on the bottom of the engine leaks. It leaked when I bought it and could see where someone monkeyed around and overtightened it and squashed out the sealing washer. I replaced the washer a while back and it still leaked. Turns out it’s crossthreaded and not going to seal properly. It’s to the point now where it’s leaking a fair amount and time to address it again.

So now what can I do to fix it? Is there a thread sealant I can use or does it need to be retapped? Keep in mind there is no way to get it clean since oil will run out of it when the plug is removed. It will also be done under the car on jackstands (no lift or engine removal.)

Any thoughts?
