CIS Fuel Distributor Line

While attempting to start my car, the rubber line from my fuel distributor popped
off. I guess it just wasn't as tight as I thought. Figures this would happen when
my car is finally ready to start.

This is the line that attaches to the fitting that has the nylon line that runs from the fuel filter to the distributor. The rubber line looks like a return line and attaches somewhere in the back, but I can't find it . I have used a mirror and still no luck. I even went as far as to go to a friends house & look at one of his engines with CIS, but it had a later system on it. My car is an early 74 with the 2.7.

I've attached a shot of the line in question.
Can anyone point me as to where this line attaches? I really don't want to drop the engine for such a small thing.
Thanks in advance for any and all help!
Cheers!
Steve

That looks to be the line that attaches to the cold start valve, located on the back side of the throttle body (between the TB and firewall.)

Thanks Ossiblue! That's where it goes.

I worked on the car for a long time & couldn't see it as it's pretty low
and hard to see from the front of the engine, even with a mirror.

I would up taking off the injection. Probably more work than necessary
but at least I can make sure I don't have any air leaks and the lines will be on
nice & tight.

Cheers!
Steve

Ossiblue is gold standard.

Take your time putting it back together. Focus on the intake runner nuts as at least on the newer SC's they can be stinkers getting them tightened down properly.
