We need this gentleman in the PLOT!

man, oh man... looks like the SC guys have their "black beauty" flagship... ;)

http://www.bushwacker.net/crew/jeff/car/racecar/build-it.htm

I thought this was an impressive car... although it's further blown than Jack's... but I thought it was a good example of of what one determined man... with a little cash, can produce.

We need this guy on the board!

pwd72s 11-19-2002 09:56 AM

Wow...there's a guy who USED to have a lot of money...;)

island911 11-19-2002 10:00 AM

I like it! That is one tough SC.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/build-3.jpg

Jack Olsen 11-19-2002 10:52 AM

I like that after sending many times over what I spent, he was still slower at Laguna. :D

Of course, then he spent another mountain of cash, and got four seconds faster. :(

That's a heck of a nice SC.

Bill Douglas 11-19-2002 10:55 AM

Lets sign him up.

Leland Pate 11-19-2002 11:00 AM

LOL,

I'm sitting here thinking, "what would this guy think when he gets an email from a complete stranger asking him to put some sticker on his car and to pledge his loyalty to a small band of neo-SCists.

And that it would be his sword duty to let all the air out of tires on any other 911 other than SC's.

zuffenhausen 11-19-2002 11:32 AM

I like the car and it looks sharp, but there's no way he'll be competitive in PCA GT-2 with an engine making 292HP. In the next class down, the very competitive GT-3, the cars usually have 315-340HP. In GT-2, I'm sure there are plenty of people with 375HP and more.

Maybe that's why his updates stop at the 2001 season? :(

Jim Richards 11-19-2002 12:48 PM

Why did he start with an SC?:p

Adam 11-19-2002 01:02 PM

That dude has some serious cash to spend on toys...

Porsche911NYC 11-19-2002 01:14 PM

What's a bushwacker? :D

pwd72s 11-20-2002 01:41 PM

western usa term from the 1800's...originally described a low down skunk who'd hide in the bushes with a rifle and whack somebody instead of fighting it out with pistols on main street. Perhaps you've confused a whacker with a wanker? ;)

Guys,
first of all, you send me your neo-SCist sticker and I'll put it on the car and be your humble servant!! Secondly, next yr I'll be in GT-3R - thanks Zuf for the info on your motor! you missed the 2002 updates 'cause the URL you have (build-it.htm) is actually a link from the main page at http://www.bushwacker-racing.com - not sure how you all got that...

And regarding this car - I did almost all of the work on it myself, including the new motor, so the "cash burn" factor isn't half as bad as what most folks are spending. And this is the first racecar I've ever built. My philosiphy is if you don't know how to do something, ask 10 people who do. Take the top 2 answers (cause they're all different) that *make the most common sense* combine, and implement.

Zuf, you'll like the motor - I based it on what you did. I blew up my 993 engine at the Laguna Seca club race a couple of months ago. I guess it didnt like having 200 hours and taking it up to 7500 rpm for every shift :) Honestly, if Jerry Woods had used titanium valve retainers and not aluminum, it would have lasted another 100 hours. everything else in the motor including the rod bearings were all perfect. something to be said for a "stock" motor that's been bullet-proofed w/ ARP rod bolts & valve springs.

The new motor is based on my 993 core, same heads but ported & polished, 102mm p&c w/ 12.8:1 comp, custom RSR style cams (but wilder) from Elgins, Motec M48Pro mgmt, 54mm TWM thr bodies, 3.0L crank that's been destroked 1mm to 69.4mm using Cleavite77 rod bearings for a total displacement of 3.400L. Expected hp will be 375-385hp range, 300-320 ftlbs torque (most important for me). Total project cost: about $10-11K including machining, parts, etc.

And the boat? Its actually not mine, its my buddy Gary's but I like to call it mine. And he likes to say he "owns" his own racecar team. Go figure.

We'd love to have any of you guys come out to the track and race w/ us. schedule is going to be great next year. I should have it updated in a few weeks. http://www.porscheracingclub.com

Your loyal neo-SC servant,

Jeff

 WOW!!! the far reaching effectiveness of the internet and PELICAN!

zuffenhausen 11-21-2002 12:14 PM

Jeff,

Sorry your 993 motor let go on you (though I'm very surprised Jerry didn't put the good retainers in--shame on him) but your new mill sounds awesome. I'm glad I could be of some inspiration. I really want to build a super-short-stroke 3.4 myself someday but you gotta have a 964 case to start with, which we didn't. With 375HP, you'll be at the tip top of GT-3. We've probably only got 325HP out of Tweet's motor, so I'm glad I'm running in GT-3S next year and not competing against you! We'd have some fun on courses with long straights though 'cause Tweet is still a narrow body car so she sees pretty good top speeds, though I doubt that's enough to offset a 50HP deficit!

Good luck next year. Maybe we'll see each other at a few races.

-zuff

P.S. Your jokes page is highly entertaining!

surflvr911sc 11-21-2002 12:15 PM

Jeff,
Very cool of you to post about your car and invite Pelicanheads to race w/ you. Good luck w/ your new motor!

Leland Pate 11-21-2002 12:36 PM

Jeff,
Let me be the first to welcome you into the “plot”.
Doug will get you your complimentary towels, Makio will handle any “special needs” you may have, Bill Douglas is our Foreign Affairs minister, 82SC handles Information Security, Island heads up our esteemed Genetic Profiling and Population Control Agency (GPPCA), Jim Christensen heads up the Member Enlargement Special Committee (MESC) and I personally oversee all sub-committee and special werks projects as well as institute guidelines and bylaws for said committees.

Our mission statement reads as follows:

The Porsche 911SC World domination plot, hereby refered to in this document as the SCWDP wishes to express our desire, implied or implicit, intentions of forming a group of highly motivated, socially responsible, members with one mission.
To take over the world.
We like to think of our organization as a non-addictive, gender neutral, group with no intentions of having intentions. A member of the SCWDP must hold himself/herself to the highest standards. We strive for a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated super secret plot to undermine the very sub-consciousness of non-SC owners and to ensure total domination of the SC make throughout the known universe.
Firstly, at the beginning of this generally accepted calendar year 2002, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make the America great, (not to imply that the America is necessarily greater than any other country or is the only "AMERICA" in the western hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform, or sexual preference, the SCWDP strives to continue our recruiting efforts throughout the free world.
Secondly, it is our hope, expressed or non-expressed, to convert others who were less fortunate than SC owners. Those owners who were forced into buying “lesser” models such as 911,E,T,Ss, 930s, 964s and 993s will be given sufficient leniency in matters regarding their poor taste in automobiles. 996 owners will not be granted such leniency. The matter of which method of converting to be used in the converting process if left solely up to the discretion of the converter. Details of approved methods will be addressed in other documents.
By accepting these terms and obligations, you are accepting these terms. This legally binding SCWDP document is subject to clarification or withdrawal at any time due to any unforeseen legal problems, hostage situations, uprisings, or funding problems. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original sender. It implies no promise by the sendee to actually implement any of the ideas, rules or obligations for her/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the SCWDP board of directors. This legally binding SCWDP document is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of SCWDPdom for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent or interim document is produced, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited in scope to replacement of this document or issuance of a new document at the sole discretion of the SCWDP.
It is our expressed hope that this legally binding SCWDP document has cleared up some of the usual questions regarding who we are and how we operate.
Thank you for your time, it is our sincere hope that we may either welcome you into our midst, or totally crush you into oblivion.
The choice is yours.
Sincerely,
Leland E. Pate
SCWDP Mastermind

I hereby offer you the prestigious position of heading up the newly formed agency of SC Propaganda.
As Minister of Propaganda your daily duties would include, but are not limited to the following:

Spreading the truth that the infidels have been oppressing for years (the last 20 to be exact). Show them the world that has been pulled over their eyes, the lies, the deception and the degradation of 911SC will continue no longer. We all know the 911SC was in fact the pinnacle of automotive achievement and now it will be your responsibility to pass this knowledge on to others.

Baking cookies in the shape of SC’s and handing them out to pizza delivery boys.

Totally deny to everyone that the motor in your car is anything BUT a simple SC motor… still running strong.

These are your goals.
Furthermore, if any Federal or International agency apprehends you, the SCWDP will deny any knowledge of your actions and will basically “throw you under the bus”.

Thanks and welcome aboard,
Leland Pate

Oh and nice car by the way!

I don't judge any SC by it's color....that would be RaceSCist!!

Although I do prefer to judge them by the backside, and the SC flares are perfect!

The Yellow Buswacker is nice, I think it's speed yellow.:D

You guys are seriously twisted. I like that in my friends, so we'll all get along just fine!

And I humbly accept the position of "Minister of Propaganda" and will fulfill the duties of my post with as much BullSh.. as I can muster (one look at my jokes page will confirm my dedication to this position).

And as far as the color goes - it's a custom mix but close to speed yellow. Kept telling the paint store mixing guy "more red. No MORE red" into the bucket of yellow. He finally got it right.

Dr. Pate, you're a demo expert right? Any way you can destroy the posts of the description of my new engine? I need "plausible deniability" so I can claim it's a stock SC motor which would then "have the added benefit of being true". All these posts leave a trail...

The reason I chose the Bushwacker Pirate theme is so when someone sees me in my mirrors, they'll screem in fright and careen off the track. Then they'll see that it was really a 911 SC that passed them and realize at that moment that the 911SC was in fact the pinnacle of automotive achievement and they better start giving me (and all of you) the respect we deserve.

Also my cookie molds are in the shape of pop-off valves - hope this will do.

Jeff

surflvr911sc 11-21-2002 06:13 PM

Jeff, I was thinking that someday I would need to buy an early car (forgive me SCWDP) in addition to my SC to make a track car. I think you have now convinced me to buy a SC to turn in to a track beast that all others will cower in the corner and whimper at the sight of.

Granted I do not know when I’ll be able to make this fantasy a reality but I will have a new dream from now on.

I cannot wait to see the new pictures of your car proudly wearing the SCWDP sticker. If you need a bigger one, let me know, any size or color, that car deserves it!

BTW, if any of us deserve to call ourselves "Dr." you do.

I think a more fair representation is if we all think back to that old comic book ad in the back where it shows the beach bully kicking sand in the wimpy dude's face and taking off with his babe......

Yeah.....now that I think about it, that's about right. I learned early....don't even try to keep up....

But ya know what? Dave of MS Road & Race is a double thumb's UP guy.....Ya never leave without knowing more than when ya arrived....and he's a hoot to hang with....

Beautiful car Dave.

dickster 11-22-2002 12:09 AM

WOW!!

and all in such a short time. can i have that motor home? does the car fit in there?:D :D :D

btw - that aint no sc:D

jeffstev 11-22-2002 07:55 AM

Dave,
funny meeting you here - you sold me that C2 Cup injection system that I now have for sale! I put "The Program" piggyback DME computer on it and it comes w/ the interface cable and software so somebody's going to get a nice system. Want to "consign" it AGAIN?

And I like your "stock" RS... but wouldn't you be playing in the Orange race group w/ that?? I showed the Red goup a few things the last time they were at TH. Before Chris Burns put that 3.8L motor in his car I was SPANKIN' him.:p

And a comment for Dr Williams - if you really want to build a SECOND track car (notice SCWDP loyalty), I'd buy an earlier car (74--) just because of the weight issue. You have NO IDEA how much work it was to get this car down to 1900 lbs. Every bolt, every tab, all available sheet metal was cut. Never again...

Jeff

BYantzer 11-22-2002 12:38 PM

I have seen this car in person. The pictures don't do it justice. The rob at S Car Go is the best!!!!! Kickin work.

PS that is where my car is now.

i wish i was in orange, basically stop if i'm wrong the colors indicate skill level, ie.
yellow: students
white: intermediate
orange: fast
red: fastest

depending on configeration it's either a v-2, v-1 or v-0, most of the points are lost on the weight and tire size

it's on it's 2nd incarnation, first time had a wild cup engine, mucho power, razor sharp throttle response etc, until i blew it, in it is a stock rsa motors, the other engine is being prepared as we speak,

okay so when are going to come out & play? think you might do ca speeedway in may? (w/ pca) or vegas in feb w/ the POC, maybe you can shows us the fastest way around a corner :) just had to sneak that in!
btw that is a trick little machine you have what is the weight? and what class does it fall in, w/ pca its a gt2s, poc v-1

jeffstev 11-23-2002 09:24 AM

Dave,
I'm a PCA GT3-R, POC R2R. Will be doing Vegas PCA and California Speedway PCA, both in May I think.

So, can you find someone to buy this injection system???

Jeff
